Hot Potato Cafe on Kitchen Nightmares

Philadelphia's own Hot Potato Cafe was on Kitchen Nightmares tonight. In May, Gordon came to town to do what eh could to save it. We saw Gordon Ramsey come into a place with three owners who didn't know what they were doing, a chef who wasn't a chef, and a ton of debt. And to top it all off, Gordon Ramsey wound up giving up after the first day. why? No comment from anyone about why they were in the shit.

But then... a miracle of self.

Daniel, the chef, quickly learns she has more culinary art skills than she realized as Gordon comes back and asks everyone to make a dish. Claire, one of the owners, broke down in tears to get Gorgon to stay, and the payoff was amazing. The episode was, in and of itself, inspiring and a triumph of the human spirit.

I look forward to heading down there soon and checking them out myself!

Hot Potato Cafe: Grand Re-Opening Tonigh w/ Chef Gordon Ramsey!

Chef Gordon Ramsey is in town this week in Fishtown, ready to kick ass and take names for "Kitchen Nightmares". Tonight he brings the Hot Potato Cafe to life with his massive makeover debuting. I've been a fan of the show largely because of the simple fact that he seems to tell it like it is. Plus, anyone willing to state that the food in the Fox 29 Green Room "tastes like shit" has my respect.

So come down to the Hot Potato Cafe tonight! They open at 11AM for breakfast, dinner starts at 4PM, and they're done by 8PM.

PS: Since I'm at it, it seems I beat out the local blogs to this story. Take THAT!

CZAR CLARKE AT IT AGAIN!!

Ill be honest: It's getting to the point where the lack of attention I'm getting is annoying. I've written every friggin blog I could, as well as newspapers and City Council members about how Clarke is trying to take away freedoms by tracking purchases of Cigarrettes, Beer, and Sharpies, but it's constantly ignored. So when he tries something big, it FINALLY gets noticed. I just wished people would actually listen to me sometimes.

Ranting aside about that, lets get to the point: CLARKE IS AT IT AGAIN!

No longer content with simply tracking your purchases and banning "offensive" images, he now wants to personally oversea where restaurants go. I'll simplify the bill for you; If you have a take-out restaurant, then your going to be zoned just like if you were a strip club! In order to get a variance from the city, you would need to talk to your City Council rep. And, oh look, Clarke is in control of half of Center City! Namely, the WESTERN HALF! Considering that means everything west of City Hall, the business district and the places where the most revitalization has happened, it's obvious that this bill is here to make life hell for anyone running a business.
